New production methods

New production methods are developing rapidly: self production, low cost production, product placement, advertainment… The development of technology means that companies have many ways to express themselves. At the same time, users, whether they are viewers or readers, want to play a greater role in creating information. Mobile telephones and digital cameras, broadband, are flooding the market, enabling individuals to compete with professionals.

Blogs, social networking and video exchange sites are only the start of a movement which is going to become unavoidable. This new trend challenges the media industry’s business models.
